Use the syntax "// commented code" or /* commented lines */
Comments are useful to understand the code, proper comments explains the functionality of code. You should write the proper message in comments or you can comment the unused code.

Single Line Comments:

PHP single line comment begins with //, See the example below:

Example:
<?php
    echo "Welcome to the tutorialsmint.com"; // Output "Welcome to the tutorialsmint.com"
?>

Multi line Comments:

PHP multi-line line comment begins with /*, and ends with */.

Example:
<?php
    /* Below code output the welcome message
       This code is written by developer name
       Date - "YY-dd-mm"	   
	*/
    echo "Welcome buddy!";
?>
